Pine Bush Area Chamber of Commerce

Nestled along the banks of the Shawangunk Kill in the shadow of the beautiful Shawangunk Ridge, the Pine Bush area was first settled by Dutch, German, Scottish and Irish farmers as early as 1740. Lively hamlets with inns, taverns, mills, schools, distilleries, stores, churches and homes grew up among the farms. By the early 19th century, the area around Pine Bush had come to be known as the Butter Capital of the World.
Today, those same hamlets and their rich agricultural heritage live on. Dairies, horse farms and vineyards share the breath-taking countryside and the hamlets are home to a diverse and exciting array of shops, restaurants and services.
A magnet for summer visitors since the 19th century, the scenic beauty of the landscape surrounding Pine Bush offers a wide spectrum of recreational activities from climbing and hiking to horseback rides and the famous Wine Trail tour among the local wineries.
